Chatted with Alan Light briefly on Facebook. He’s the author of Let’s Go Crazy: The Making of Purple Rain, which I consider to be the best written book on Prince’s life and music. Alan is also former editor of both Vibe and Spin magazines as well as a writer for Rolling Stone. He offered to read my draft and help in any way he could. I met him at a Prince conference (yes, there is such a thing) at Yale University in late January. We sat next to each other for a presentation by Michelangelo Matos.
